Self Drive
This method of travel to the Alps is increasing in popularity each year. With a full complement of passengers it is by far the cheapest way to Châtel. The roads have been improved considerably in recent years and the journey is unlikely to take more than 10 hours from the channel ports. There is a choice of suitable routes; detailed directions from Calais will be sent to clients a few weeks before their departure.
Using your own car you will have no restriction on luggage and you can choose channel crossings that enable you to ski on both the first and last days of your holiday. Accommodation will need to be vacated on the morning of your final day but we will gladly look after your luggage for you.
We strongly recommend that you carry a set of snow chains for your vehicle. They are generally very much cheaper in France than in the UK. We do suggest that you practice fitting them before you encounter snow and ice!

Ferries
Snowise has negotiated a combined holiday + ferry price with Sea France Ferries which offers considerable savings.
Sea France operate a Dover - Calais service with 30 crossings each day. It is a French owned and French run company with a unique flavour and style. Each ship has a choice of traditional French brasseries and bars offering something for everyone with various types of cuisine ranging from international dishes to popular snacks.
Please telephone our office for details of the special rates for Snowise clients.

Overnight
If you should wish to break your journey and stop overnight you will find plenty of good, budget priced hotels adjacent to your route. We have no hesitation in recommending Premiere Classe Hotels where three-bedded rooms are available from €32 per night. Look at their web site www.premiereclasse.com to see their locations and to book on-line.

Rail Travel
There are regular daily train services from London through the Channel Tunnel to Thonon-Les-Bains, Evian, Aigle and Cluses. We are able to arrange for you to be collected from the station.

Air
There are several flights each day to Geneva from many UK airports. Prices vary from £40.00 to over £300.00 return.
Advice on flights available. Snowise can assist you in obtaining flights by giving you a contact telephone number of a fully bonded travel agent who will be happy to arrange your flights for you. Please note that we do not take payment for flights ourselves. However, by ensuring that you are booking with an ATOL holder you can be assured that your flights are financially protected.
EasyJet has regular services to Geneva from Luton, Liverpool, East Midlands and Gatwick. They operate a direct sales system to keep prices as competitive as possible; one cannot book any of their flights through a travel agent. Their telephone number is 0870 6000000 or you can book via the internet on www.easyJet.com.
This winter even more budget airlines are proposing to include Geneva in their schedule. Check out bmibaby.com, jet2.com and flybe.com and find low cost flights from Cardiff, Teeside, Leeds-Bradford, Southampton, Dublin and the Channel Islands.

Transfers
The prices shown on Bookings page are inclusive of transfer from and to Geneva Airport or Coach Station. Transfer time is about 1½ - 2 hours.
Self-drive clients and others not requiring transfers please deduct £40.00 per person from the cost of the holiday.

Passports Visas
Please ensure you have a passport that is valid for the duration of your holiday. If you should need to apply for a passport we would suggest that you do so in good time. Holders of UK passports do not require a visa to holiday in France; holders of other passports are requested to check their visa requirements with the French Consulate.

Car Hire
Clients considering hiring a car at Geneva Airport are advised to rent a vehicle with French registration.
There are severe restrictions on the use of Swiss hire cars in France for more than seven days. Most of the well known rental companies have both Swiss and French vehicles at Geneva.
We would recommend you contact easyCar or Holiday Autos as they frequently have a good selection of cars available at Geneva at very competitive prices (www.easycar.com and www.holidayautos.com)
