Chalet les Chouettes
Chalet les Chouettes Petit - Châtel 74390 Châtel, France.

Our chalet was built in 1993 and extended over the past three years. Traditional in style yet with modern comforts it is situated on the south facing hillside at Petit-Châtel (C on the map) with splendid views both across the village towards Linga and down the valley to Chapelle d’Abondance.

The chalet has large comfortable bedrooms with plenty of bath / shower rooms and WC’s. Three bedrooms have en-suite facilities and two bedrooms share a bathroom.
Please note that as the construction is almost entirely in wood, Chalet Les Chouettes is a no-smoking chalet.

The sauna is ideal for easing muscles after a hard day on the slopes before relaxing in front of the wood burning fire with an aperitif or two, swapping stories with other guests and reliving the dramas of the week.

All the bedrooms, unless only occupied by children, have tea and coffee making facilities so guests can have their early morning cuppa as early as they like.

Breakfast is served at 8 o’clock. Guests can eat later on a self-service basis if they prefer. Cereals, porridge, eggs, toast, croissants, jams, honey, tea, coffee and fruit juice are all available.

Afternoon tea and home-made cakes will be ready for you when you return from the slopes.

New for this winter is free wireless broadband internet access in the chalet for guests who need to ‘stay in touch’.

Dinner is one of the highlights of the day; four courses with wine, coffee and digestifs. A typical menu is shown below. Children’s meals served earlier in the evening are available if parents so prefer. Once a week we like to prepare a local Savoyard meal, frequently a raclette or pierrade.
Our chalet staff have one evening off each week when you may wish to visit one of the local restaurants. We would be pleased to make any reservations on your behalf.

Self Catering
Have the freedom to ‘do your own thing’, to eat what and when you like. If you don’t mind doing the domestic bit to get the most economical skiing holiday possible then self-catering is the answer.
Details of some chalets and apartments are given at the back of this brochure but do please phone for fuller information. Some of the accommodation is ‘no-smoking’.
The supermarkets in Châtel are very reasonably priced and have a large selection of international and regional goods. They are open until 7.00 pm so there is never a need to miss any skiing to stock up. When you first arrive there will be a ‘welcome pack’ waiting for you containing bread, butter, soup, fruit, milk and wine to start you off. The kitchens are fully fitted and equipped to make the cook’s task as easy as possible.
Bed linen is not provided in self-catered accommodation; it may be hired locally if required. Please note that duvet covers are not always available for hire in the village. Indicate on the booking form if you would like us to arrange for linen to be supplied.
Guide price €15 per set.

Baby Sitting

The Tourist Office keeps a list of child-minders who are available by the half-day or evening.
